Fooey on SONY for all their proprietary formats! Now that I got that out of the way, this adapter was a life-saver for me when I wanted to enhance an older product (PCM-D1) with newer technology (an 8GB card). I'm happy to report that it did just what it was supposed to do, and now I can use by PCM-D1 to record hours of content at high bitrates.
